Saves the Day - Stay What You Are

This album is an absolute classic. You will not find a tighter and more well-written set of songs anywhere in the emo universe (and when I say emo, please know I'm talking more the Get Up Kids kind and not the guyliner variety).

The lyrics stray toward the melodramatic, but they fit the music perfectly. The entire experience of this album is amazing. It's like the giddiness you would feel if you found the secret diary of that one person with all the indie cred that you had a crush on in high school. Saves the Day also executes the sad-words-with-happy-music approach on this album in a way not touched since the last decent Cure album (Wish, 1992). This album rocks in fascinating and poignant ways and I can't help but love it.
