Olivia Tremor Control - Music From the Unrealized Film Script, Dusk At Cubist Castle

I don't know if the fine ladies and gentlemen of the Elephant Six collective know whether or not they are, in fact, The Beatles. I suggest we all just go about our business and not tell them.

Music From the Unrealized Film Script, Dusk at Cubist Castle is every bit as weird as the title indicates. What you may not expect are the moments of pure blissful sunshiney pop that break through the tape loops and odd instrumentation (seriously, Robert Schneider of Apples in Stereo plays a Tibetan prayer bowl on this album) at fairly regular intervals. You can't really lift tracks from this album and put them on a mix tape, but listening to the album as a whole provides a unique, fun, and endlessly interesting experience. I'd put it right up there with The Apples in Stereo's own Her Wallpaper Reverie.
