Nick Drake- Pink Moon

Nick Drake is the vanguard of the "quiet is the new loud" movement (yes, I am aware of the Kings of Convenience album of same name). For your Irons and Wines, your early Belles and Sebastians, your Elliott Smiths, your Damien Rices, and all your other quietcore artists, Nick Drake is something of a god. With a relatively short career and very little popular notoriety in his lifetimes, Nick Drake has become to indie what Big Star is to power pop. Anyway, Pink Moon is Nick Drake's third and final album. As with his other albums, Pink Moon has a haunting quality about it. It's beautiful, sad, and lonely. It's what I imagine it would be like to have a ghost walk through you. If you enjoy any of the bands I listed above, Pink Moon should fit your tastes nicely. Just remember when you're listening to it that Nick Drake was 20 to 30 years before his time. Maybe that's why he was so sad. That's the dumbest thing I've ever written. Mark the time.
